Registration FAQs

All returning participants (both Football and Cheer) and their siblings ONLY are guaranteed spots within our organization and may participate in our Returning Family registration process which will begin with online registration (usually in January).  This process is for Returning Families only (defined below).  All others are open to register through our New Family registration process (usually in February).
 
Here are some common questions we get regarding registration.

Q1:  My child didn't participate last year, but he/she did 2 years ago.  Are we considered a returning family?

A1:  No.  A returning family is defined as one who had a player who was on an AYFCL certified roster in the previous season.  If your family had no roster-certified member in the prior year, you will have to use the new family registration process to be considered for participation.

Q2:  We had an AYFCL certified and rostered child in the previous season but now have a new sibling who wants to participate for the first time.  Is that child considered a returning participant?

A2:  Yes.  A returning family is able to add & register all siblings who are part of that immediate household family as part of the Returning Family Registration.

Q3:  To register, I need an account.  I don't know if I have an account.

A3:  If you already have an account and have forgotten your password, on the Sign in screen just enter your Email only and you will be prompted on how to reset your password.
 
If you do not have an account, you can register for one after new family registration opens.  Just go into the registration forms and the system will start with the Sign in screen where you will enter your Email only.  A Password will be sent to you at that Email address.  You will then be able to Sign in using your Email and the Password assigned.  Once in the system, you will have the ability change that password.   

Q4:  Why do I need to set up an account?

A4:  A WJW-WJT account is needed to roster your child and to provide information to AYFCL (our parent organization).   Also, we need to collect your contact information to keep you informed about upcoming events and to effectively notify you on other matters of importance.

Q5:  Will we get into WJW-WJT if we are a New Family?

A5:  Each year WJW-WJT experiences more demand than spots available in some areas.  Shortly after we obtain registration from returning families (usually in January), we open our New Family registration process (usually in February).  When that process opens, you need to visit our website and create an account to supply information necessary to register your child/children. 

Registering does not automatically ensure a roster spot.  For most of our squads, we will have plenty of open roster spots, but a few squads may have more registrants than open positions (B-Tackle & C-Tackle may become over registered).  For those levels, we will close the online open registration at a specified date around mid march 2013 and determine how many spots are available for new registrations.  We will then conduct a lottery from the new registrations we have received to determine who is rostered and who is on our wait list.  All registered families will be notified of their roster/wait list status by email some time after we close the open registration in March.  NOTE: other than B-Tackle & C-Tackle, we generally don't have any wait list situations for other squads and you can feel comfortable that your child will have a good chance of being rostered.
