  • Webster Jr. Warriors/Jr. Titans is a is a 501(c)(3), not-for-profit, all-volunteer organization. WJW-WJT is member of the American Youth Football & Cheerleading League (AYFCL), an independent youth football and cheer league based in the Greater Rochester, NY area.

     




  • Our History

    In the fall of 1993, a cheer mom, Kathy LeFrois, called together and met with some football coaches and cheer moms and held the first meeting to discuss the start up of a new football and cheerleading organization to support the need of a growing town. That night the seed was planted and the Webster Jr. Warriors were born. Here is a brief history of events and milestones in our organization.

    • December 1993 elected the first Board of Directors.
    • February 1994 chartered with the Vince Lombardi Youth Football League.
    • March 1994 held first open registration, 153 participants registered for the 1994 season.
    • April 1994 the Webster Jr. Warriors Football and Cheerleading incorporates as a Not For Profit organization.
    • August 1, 1994 the Webster Jr. Warriors held their first practice.
    • September 1994 the Webster Jr. Warriors played their first game away versus the Newark Colts.
    • January 1995 became original member of Webster Youth Sports Council, cooperative effort with Webster Parks and Recreation and Webster Schools to share and schedule facilities for a growing town and youth sports programs.
    • 1996 founded flag football program, the first in Monroe County. Fielded 28 flag football players.
    • 1997 Help found the Fingerlakes Youth Football League, 1997 - 2001 WJW President was the FLYFCL President, WJW Cheer Director was also FLYFCL Cheer Director, board members helped expand the league from ten teams in 1997 to 16 teams in 2001 and moved FLYFCL Cheer Competition to Blue Cross Arena, Held First FLYFCL Bowl Game.
    • 1997 Invited to be a member of the Webster Sports Complex and its development along with Webster Youth Hockey, and the Webster Soccer Association.
    • 2001 program waiting list is 45 football and 45 cheerleaders, plan expansion program to field two teams under the Webster Junior Warriors, Inc. umbrella, the Webster Jr. Warriors South, enrolling south Webster, and the Webster Jr. Warriors North, enrolling north Webster based on the newly formed two high school district plan.
    • 2002 Launch the two-team organization; fill all football and cheer rosters and field 72 Flag Football players. 389 participants registered in 2002.
    • August 2002 Install Goal Posts and Score Board at Boulter Field and open the site for play. Opening day at home, the Webster Jr. Warriors North meets the South in competition.
    • 2002 State Grant awarded to the Webster Sports Complex for Capital Improvement at Boulter Field.
    • 2003 Join the American Youth Football League; Webster Jr. Warrior South becomes the Jr. Warriors, Webster Jr. Warrior North become the Jr. Titans
    • 2003 Construction is in process to build a press box and storage, concessions, rest rooms buildings on site at Boulter Field.
    • 2006  Innovation of "Senior Bowl" Flag Football graduation game.
    • 2009 Announcer booth renovation, 1st PPK- Punt Pass and Kick Picnic, Memorial Garden moved & Noah added.
    • 2010 Junior Warriors & Junior Titans expand to three squads - White Lightning, Blue Thunder, & Gold Storm.  Webster's premier youth football & cheer organization delivers character building experience to record levels of community kids.
    • 2012 Change in League Ages and Weights, and Webster expands again by adding a second A level team.
    • 2013 Webster grows its Cheerleading teams and adds a second competition team at the C level.
